All files sent to the Nielsen FTP site must be provided in compressed format. This simple task assures your files will arrive in a useable format.

  • Macintosh users:
    Macintosh files should be provided in a single archive file. Stuffit is the most common program used to create these files, and can be purchased from a variety of sources.

    Visit http://www.stuffit.com for details. Macintosh users are encouraged to use BinHex format.

  • Windows users:
    Windows files should be provided in a single zipped file. File archiving capability is built into Windows XP.

    For other Windows platforms, there are a variety of products, including WinZip - http://www.winzip.com.

    Please do not drag and drop uncompressed folders onto the FTP site; it greatly increases the chances of file corruption.

FTP Site Instructions:
We strongly recommend using FTP software, such as: They are faster and more reliable than uploading from the browser.

Use the information below to log into our site:

Host: ftp.nielsenco.com
User ID: assigned by Nielsen
Password: assigned by Nielsen

All files should be uploaded into the ToNielsen Folder.

If you wish to send us files through your browser, simply enter ftp://username@ftp.nielsenco.com in the location box; you will be prompted for your assigned password.
